Visual Designer and Art Director. Brand and campaign design rooted in culture.
I'm Rich. Visual Designer and Art Director, based in Brooklyn. Eight years building brands in-house at JetBlue, Priceline, and Dash Financial, with an ongoing independent practice through RIIICH Made. Strategy and aesthetics aren't in tension here. They're the same conversation.
I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, inside hip hop, dancehall, sports, and style. Those worlds were my first education in design, even if nobody called it that. You learned to pay attention. How your jeans fell on your shoes. Whether the colors and patterns were working together or fighting each other. The way a sample flipped a melody into something else entirely. I still practice all of it. Knowing when to push and when to hold back, when to let something breathe or when to stack it, when to be loud and when to let the quiet do the work. Staying fresh meant staying ready: always watching what was moving, what was next, never letting your references get stale. That duality between rawness and refinement, between restraint and release. It's not just where I'm from. It's how I design.
Before anything gets made, I need to know what winning looks like. The job is pushing past mission complete to mission accomplished. There's a difference. Mission complete means it's done. Mission accomplished means it worked. Good collaboration is what gets you there: keeping the client's goals in focus while finding room to push the work further. The discipline holds regardless of format: understand the goal, respect the audience, build something that earns its place in the culture.
Design is a series of deliberate decisions, each one accountable to the idea. Nothing arbitrary. Nothing decorative for its own sake. Every detail has a job. I work with AI as a creative partner, not a replacement for thinking. The tools change. The standard doesn't.
